*These deadlines are for incoming foreign national students planning to enter the United States under the F-1 student visa. All required materials must be received by New College Admissions in order to receive a decision. Please plan ahead to make sure we get all of your materials on time!

The “Form I-20” process is unique for each international student. If you are a transfer student, entering New College of Florida from another U.S. higher education institution, your SEVIS record will need to be transferred to us. If you have been out of school for one semester or longer, you will need to start this process over again and reapply for a student visa. Without an active Form I-20, your student visa is not valid.

New College of Florida works exclusively with F-1 international students. Freshmen entering New College with no prior college experience will need to start at the beginning. Our international student admissions staff will only help you complete your Form I-20 after you have submitted your enrollment deposit.

Each international student must provide the following documents to be issued an updated Form I-20 or a new Form I-20 to take to your embassy interview:

  1. The Form I-20 – Certification of Funds Form details evidence of funds in U.S. dollars sufficient to cover tuition, fees, and living expenses for at least one academic year. This amount is listed under the “Total Cost of Attendance” on your New College of Florida “Cost of Attendance” letter.
  2. The Certification of Funds Form needs to be signed and stamped by the bank where the funds are deposited.
  3. A letter from the bank on official bank letterhead certifying the amount of the funds available in U.S. dollars, or a copy of the bank account statementin U.S. dollars. This letter or statement must be dated less than 3 months from the date of submission.
  4. A copy of your passport (photo page). Ensure that the passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended period of study in the United States.
  5. A copy of your government-issued ID.
  6. Official high school and/or college transcripts, official test scores if required, and an official credential evaluation for high school or an international college or university.
  7. Transcripts, scores, and evaluations need to be sent directly to New College of Florida to [email protected] by the issuing institution for the documents to be official.
  8. Transfer students must check with your current’s institution’s DSO to transfer your SEVIS record to New College of Florida.

These documents must be sent to [email protected], along with any additional supporting documents.
